Our work

RMUK Wellbeing deliver a range of food and wellbeing support projects that combat food poverty, financial crisis and the development of health conditions faced by vulnerable communities across Southwark, Lewisham and Lambeth.

Our projects help families experiencing worklessness, rising fuel and food prices, social and digital isolation, as well as those suffering with (or at risk of) poor physical and mental wellbeing.

Our crisis support work includes hot meals and essential items complemented by Information, advice and guidance, signposting and befriending to support needs holistically.

Our services

The Community Shop

  • We provide nutritious,  culturally appropriate food to households across Lambeth,  Southwark and Lewisham who are facing difficult circumstances, many of  whom are also disengaged from mainstream services due to  the historic and present-day harm caused by structural racism and health inequalities.

RMUK’s holistic approach means that we do not only focus  on food provision, but also on offering befriending, advocacy,  signpost and access to cultural activities, to address isolation  and other harmful impacts of marginalisation, which are known  to be social determinants of health.

  • We have recently acquired a new garden space and are looking for volunteers to turn this into a beautiful community garden with hints of blue colours, mozaics, and artworks surrounded by sensory plants and edibles for community members to enjoy

Community events

  • Our pop up Cafes are just was communities welcome. We set these up by invitation and look forward to welcoming ALL community members to socialise, meet new friends and neighbours, engage in new and uplifting conversations to reduce loneliness and isolations. We do crafts, we sing, we dance and we show love and care to ensure that everyone belongs.

Crisis support

  • Our fortnightly food deliveries include our unique doorstep befriending. Our deliveries are for people who are not able to do regular shopping or attend a food bank or food project. Our volunteers are so dedicated and try to find out “what-else” is needed so that we can connect and reconnect people to the right type of support they need. Membership to our food delivery and wellbeing support service is just £4 every two weeks.

Loneliness, isolation and hunger have no postcode boundaries.
